Château Lafon-Rochet is a fourth-growth Médoc estate located in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux. The 2005 vintage was an excellent year for Bordeaux, and the 2005 Lafon-Rochet likely showcased the estate's classic Médoc terroir with flavors of ripe blackberry, cassis, and subtle oak influence. As a well-structured, age-worthy Bordeaux red, the 2005 Lafon-Rochet would have benefited from extended cellar aging to allow the tannins to fully integrate and the flavors to develop additional complexity.
